Better Networker…
THE Authority Site For Marketers!

 

There must have been some kind of magic in the air back in 2007

Thanks to the interactive platforms that we take for granted
today, social media was on the rise and more than a few marketers
staked a claim on their corner of the Internet.

Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring was spreading through teams,
downlines, crossline contacts and companies like wildfire.

Many of the sites, tools and services that are now household
words for most marketers began then or shortly thereafter.

And not coincidentally, Better Networker.com, a site created
exclusively for us marketers, was born.

Nice history lesson…but so what?

Doing It The Wrong Way…

Well, at the suggestion of my upline sponsor, who had some
experience with the Internet, 2007 was also the year I
decided to start exploring ways to use the Internet to prospect
for my networking marketing business.

I was a successful marketer, sure. But when it came to this
Internet stuff, I was totally green.

I knew next to nothing about marketing on the Internet…
but I was EXCITED!

So my sponsor laid out the steps for me, and I followed them
every day. To the LETTER!

It went something like this:

*Join home business related Ning sites

*Go to each one you’re a member of EVERY DAY and
connect with the new members

*Post a welcome message on their profile that included
something like, “If I could show you a way to
(__fill in the blank__) go here” and include the link
to your company’s replicated website.

Now I know most of you are laughing your tushies off by now,
and that’s OK.

Remember, I was such a total newbie that I had to LEARN a
few things to qualify for knowing nothing!

A few months later he added:
*Start connecting with “like-minded people” on Facebook

Not so surprisingly, several months of diligently following
his formula produced…

NOTHING!!!

But I told myself that like advertising in the local newspapers,
it was just a matter of keeping at it. Someone, somewhere was
BOUND to click my link and buy my stuff!

Then, thank goodness, in 2008, my sponsor told me about a
relatively new site he’d heard about that was the brain child
of none other than Mike Dillard (who was really hot stuff by now).

The plan was the same.

Join. Create your profile.

Connect with people.

Share your link with them.  Next.  BUT…

There was something very DIFFERENT about this new site.

It was a place for network marketers LIKE ME who were trying to
make this whole Internet thing work.

The name said it all, really. Better Networker. And that’s what I wanted to
be, after all…a BETTER networker.

So I began reading instructor content, reading in the forums
(no, I didn’t participate, but I read EVERYTHING)

And something about the way I was approaching this whole “Internet
thing” began to change.

No more link posting for me!

As a matter of fact, I was so embarrassed by it, that I actually
tried to go back and delete the ones I had posted!!

After a few months, I had learned about being authentic and
branding myself, so I wanted to change my profile picture which
had me waving from the driver’s seat of an expensive car that
I did NOT own. But I couldn’t figure out how to do it! (let’s
remember my technical prowess at the time)

So after deleting everything and changing the name to “Done Account,”
I created a second, new account and began contributing to the site.

It was blog posts at first, then articles and finally videos.

As I worked on my skills, my stuff began popping up now and then in
the front page “Popular Today” section, then in the scrolling news feed
and has been featured in several issues of the newsletter.

Why Better Networker?

So what do I tell folks when they ask me WHY I’m sold on Better Networker??
